Goa state’s the most popular Shri Mangeshi temple is located in Ponda taluk, North Goa district. The temple is dedicated to the Bhagavan Manguesh (Lord Shiva). Original temple was destroyed by Portuguese invaders in 1543. New Mangeshi temple is constructed in 1739 by Maratha ruler Sardar Shri Ramchandra Malhar Sukhtankar.
