Sri Mangeshi Temple Goa


Mangueshi Temple is devoted to Lord Mangueshi which an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Shri Mangueshi temple location is Mangeshi village in Ponda Taluka. Temple distance from Panaji is 22 Kilo meters and from Margao 26 km. Mangeshi village is just 37.92 km far from Dabolim Airport. Nearest big town is Ponda for Mangeshi village and nearest railway station is Karmali which 17 km from Ponda city.
Real old temple was situated at Kushasthali Cortalim village but temple was destroyed by Portuguese in 1543. This was shifted to Mangesh Linga village from Kushasthali Cortalim village (real location) in 1560. Present temple was constructed by Shri Ramchandra Malhar Sukhtankar between 1739 -163.
